Site visit: Tan Long Paper Factory

DA NANG, 29 June – The Vice Minister of Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam (Mr. Nguyen The Phuong), the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) (Mr. Li Yong) and other high-level representatives visited the Hoa Khanh industrial zone in Da Nang to witness some of the achievements of the multi-focal GEF-funded project “Implementation of eco-industrial park initiative for sustainable industrial zones in Vietnam” (EIP). Selected company is Tan Long Paper Factory

Tan Long Paper Factory is one of 72 companies participating in the project’s Resource efficiency and Cleaner production (RECP) program . The company specializes in producing industrial packaging paper. During the time involved in RECP activities, company has achieved several significant benefits from the project. The project’s experts have proposed 23 RECP solutions for enterprises, up to now  the enterprise has  efficiently implemented these solutions and gained considerable benefits. There are some benefits when they implement the proposed solutions such as saving 972,000 kWh of electricity per year, reducing 544.6 tons of C02 emissions into the environment  thus helping businesses save 360 ​​tons of materials, resulting in economic efficiency of more than 2.5 billion VND / year..

 

Representative of the company thanked EIP  project for support and consultancy to improve the efficiency of the production process and enhance the competitiveness.After 08 months, with the priority of implementing solutions proposed by the project experts, the company saved nearly 2.5 billion per year. They also expect in the coming time, the EIP project will continue to support businesses to achieve specific results, bringing many benefits for participating enterprises.
