Experience of Eco- Industrial Park Development in Korea, 2019

The article on  “Experience of Eco- Industrial Park Development in Korea” is published on Journal of  Regional Sustainable Development 1 (2019) aims to study the experience of building and developing an eco-industrial park model in Korea through the implementation of the National Program on Eco-Industrial Park implemented from 2005 to 2019. By the end of Phase 2 of the Program in 2014, Korea has successfully converted 51 industrial parks of this country’s 1,074 industrial parks and achieved great economic, environmental and social benefits. In particular, Korea has created its own implementation method of eco- industrial park development through which Vietnam can study to develop an eco- industrial park in Vietnam. Implementation of Eco-Industrial Park initiative through the application of resource efficiency and cleaner production, 2019

The article on  “Implementation of Eco-Industrial Park initiative through the application of resource efficiency and cleaner production”  is published on Economy Forecast Review  8 (2019) aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the Eco-Industrial Park initiative through the application of resource efficiency and cleaner production in the enterprises of 4 pilot industrial zones of the project: Khanh Phu & Gian Khau (Ninh Binh), Hoa Khanh (Da Nang), Tra Noc 1 & 2 (Can Tho) from 2015 to 2019. The conversion results of these 4 Industrial Zones will be used to build a roadmap for converting potential industrial parks of Vietnam to an Eco- Industrial Park model. Standards requirements and a roadmap for developing eco-industrial parks in Vietnam, 2018

The article on “Standards, requirements and roadmap for developing eco-industrial park in Vietnam” is published on Journal of Cleaner Production 188 (2018) aims to address EIP implementation and monitoring by providing a new approach to EIP development in Vietnam. Co-authors of the articles are: Guillaume Massard (BG Consulting Engineers SA, Switzerland), Heinz Leuenberger (University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Northwestern, Switzerland) and Tran Duy Dong (Department of Economic Zone Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Viet Nam). The article fills a gap in research about how to engage in EIPs at a national level when knowhow and general resource efficiency level are low. The methodology proposed establishes a bottom-up participative process adapted to transition and developing economies to foster EIP emergence and define minimum requirements, related indicators, and a continuous improvement method. The article is result of findings from a two-day expert group meeting took place in Vietnam in September 2016.

The article is the result of general research from documents of the project: “Implementation of Eco – industrial park initiative for sustainable industrial zones in Vietnam”.
