On June 29, 2018, representative of the Project Management Unit “Implementation of eco-industrial park initiative for sustainable industrial zones in Viet Nam” (EIP) led the delegation attended the 6th GEF Assembly to visit the Hoa Khanh industrial zone in Da Nang to witness some of the achievements of the multi-focal GEF-funded project EIP. Selected company is Da Nang Printing and Services Joint Stock Company.
Da Nang Printing and Services Joint Stock Company is one of 72 companies participating in the project’s Resource efficiency and Cleaner production (RECP) program . The company has over 40 years of history with the precursor is the State Printing Enterprise of Quang Nam – Da Nang established on April 22, 1978 on the basis of renovation of private printing workshops before 1975. During the time involved in RECP activities, company has achieved several significant benefits from the project. The project’s experts have proposed 14 RECP solutions for enterprises, of which the company has effectively implemented 9 solutions. There are some benefits when they implement the proposed solutions such as saving 1,125 kWh of electricity per year, reducing 1 tons of C02 emissions into the environment, thus helping enterprises saving more than 100 million VND per year.
Representative of the company said that joining the project was a right decision with the initial goal of receiving expert advice to improve the efficiency of the production process and enhance the competitiveness. They expect the project to continue to be the bridge between the business and the experts on RECP. They also expect in the coming time the EIP project will continue to support businesses to achieve specific results, bringing many benefits for participating enterprises.
