The main methods and tools to identify industrial symbiosis opportunities and to mobilize stakeholders’ involvement in implementing these opportunities have been introduced and discussed in a series of training workshops held recently by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with VNCPC and Sofies (Switzerland). The training workshop took place in Da Nang on April 26 was the last workshop in that series.
The national experts from VNCPC and international experts from Sofies provided training to representatives from enterprises in the 5 pilot industrial zones under the Project “Implementation of Eco-Industrial Park Initiative for Sustainable Industrial Zones in Vietnam”.
The training also aimed to create a common understanding of key concepts and lessons learnt related to industrial symbiosis and to provide practical tools to support the implementation of industrial symbiosis, including financial support mechanism. The participants were introduced with business models and cases from Vietnam and other countries.
The participants also discussed barriers and solutions to overcome these barriers when implementing industrial symbiosis solutions.
Earlier on 23 April 2019 and 25 April 2019, two similar training workshops was held in Can Tho and Ninh Binh.
The training workshops were held in Ninh Binh, Can Tho and Danang late April 2019 as part of the “Industrial Symbiosis Feasibility Study and Implementation in Vietnam” component.
