Within the framework of the project “Implementation of Eco – industrial park initiative for sustainable industrial zones in Vietnam”, on June 13, 2018 , in Can Tho City .Department of Management of Economic Zones, Ministry of Planning and Investment has coordinated with Can Tho City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority  to organize a dissemination workshop ” Resource efficiency and Cleaner production for enterprise ( batch 3 )” (RECP). Attending the workshop were 51 participants, including representatives from the Department of Management of Economic Zones, Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI); Can Tho City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (CEPIZA); Management Board of Ecological Industrial Park Project (PMU) and representative from enterprises in Tra Noc Industrial Zone 1 & 2.

In the opening of the training course, Ms. Vuong Thi Minh Hieu – Economic Zones Management Department – MPI, National Project Coordinator welcomed the attendance of participants. She enphasized, Can Tho is one of three localities nationwide selected by the MPI and PMU to carry out the project “Implementation of Eco-industrial park initiative for sustainable Industrial Zones in Vietnam” to implement the pilot transformation of  Industrial Zones to Eco-Industrial Parks, in which enterprises in Tra Noc 1 & 2 have been selected to implement the project.

During 8 months of RECP programs batch 3  was implemented in Can Tho  (from October, 2017 until  April, 2018), enterprises have received a lot of support from the project and initially brought about positive results. In Tra Noc 1 & 2 IZs, the project experts have proposed more than 151 RECP solutions; In which, 110 solutions have been implemented by enterprises; this will bring significant benefits to the company when cutting down the amount of wastewater more than 132,940 m3 per year , equivalent to reduction of 2,649.7. tons CO2  per year and help businesses save more than 11.49 billion per year. In addition, the project also organized training course about Chemical Management  for staffs at Tra Noc 1 & 2 Industrial Zones .In the future, the EIP project will continue to support enterprises to achieve concrete results, bring real benefits for participating enterprises.

At the end of the workshop, representatives from the Department of Management of Economic Zones, MPI and representatives of CEPIZA awarded certificates to individuals and enterprises in Tra Noc 1&2 Industrial Zones has participated in training and practicing  RECP batch 3. Cantho Fertilizer and Chemicals Company was honored to receive the Souvenir Trophy from the Project with the best achievements in the application of consultancy solutions,  enhance environmental protection and reduce production costs.
