Opening the training course, Mr. Tran Duy Dong welcomed the attendance of the participants. He said that Vietnam is one of the 7 countries in the world to implement the most effective industrial ecology project according to UNIDO. The success was achieved through the cooperation of Ministries, donors and especially the enthusiastic support of the Industrial Zones Authority in Can Tho, Da Nang, Ninh Binh provinces.On May 22, 2018, the Government approved Decree No. 82/2018 / ND-CP regulating the management of Industrial Zones and Economic Zones,the decree takes effect on July 10,2018. This is the first legal document in Vietnam regulating concepts, criteria and incentives for enterprises in Eco- Industrial Zones. Accordingly, he also expects the training program will equip local industrial park managers with the necessary capacity to implement and manage ecological zones in the shortest time.
At the workshop, Mr. Dick Van Beers introduced the international framework for the model of Eco- Industrial Park; Support policies and design ideas for Eco-Industrial Park; Experiences in planning, managing and supervising the implementation of industrial symbiosis models. He has presented some cases in the world and lessons learned from countries. After the presentation of the lecture, a group discussion on the theoretical issues related to the content was presented by Mr. Dick. Participants were divided into 3 groups presenting the application of the concept of Eco-Industrial Zone in Vietnam, challenging opportunities in management of ecological industrial zones in Vietnam, applying the idea of Eco-Industrial Park in Viet Nam.
